QUT corporate gift
This was a 5 week individual project in which I was tasked to design a QUT corporate gift that displays QUT Science and Engineering Faculty’s innovation through technology, and the faculty’s values as a whole.
The final design took the shape of a wave-shaped pen holder that doubled as a phone holder. I really tried to avoid a tacky feel that usually comes with cheap corporate gifts. In order to test the size and effectiveness of the final designs, I printed CAD side views and modelled foam to fit the template. After a few different iterations, I found one that worked! I chose extruded aluminium in as the material to keep the cost down, and still keep a high quality look. I 3D printed my final model, sanded and painted (and sanded and painted and sanded and painted) it to look finished. I printed and applied a sticker showing the placement of the QUT SEF logo on the design. For the final presentation, I planned and printed my A2 boards, and designed and printed multiple brochures to hand out at the exhibition. The final presentation went well, and although my design wasn’t chosen for further development, I am still proud of the finished result.
